Monthly Mood Board: January 2025
I'm kicking off 2025 with a new creative challenge for myself: monthly mood boards! Each month, I'll be diving deep into a new theme, curating a vibrant collection of colors, images, textures, patterns, and inspiring quotes. This is more than just pretty pictures — my goal is to not only push the boundaries of my design style but also cultivate an intentional mindset each month.
Join me as we explore the evolving themes of each month through the captivating lens of visual storytelling!

COLOR PALETTE:
Lush greens and calming blues create a sense of peace and renewal, perfect for a fresh start. Blue and green are probably the colors I use the least in my projects, so focusing on these shades this month will be a fun challenge!
PHOTOS:
Images of serene nature scenes, encouraging more time outdoors and connecting with nature. Don’t these photos just make you want to take a big, deep breath?!
GRAPHICS:
A mixture of paintings, illustrations, creative type treatments, and engaging layouts. This year I want to create things that are unexpected and (gasp!) maybe a little imperfect?! Overall I want to try new things and push my design style, and the graphics here are giving me all the inspiration.
QUOTES:
I’m a big fan of inspirational quotes but I really kick it into overdrive when the new year rolls around. The quotes I used in this month’s mood board are a reminder to embrace creativity, believe in yourself, and reach your full potential. Many of them focus on art, since a big goal of mine is to create more and create just for fun — not for my job, not for a client, but for me! My favorite quote here is the circle in the upper right hand corner, “I’m back by popular demand.” The new year is an opportunity for a fresh start, and to become (or return to) the ideal version of yourself.

THE PIN BOARD ITSELF
I get A LOT of questions about this pin board and unfortunately, I made it myself out of a broken mirror so I don’t have an exact link that I can share. However, here are some similar options that are super cute! Or, a plain cork board would do the trick! Links for all five of the cork boards shown here are below the pics!

PUSH PINS AND PRINTING
When it comes to the images, first I curated a Pinterest board full of visuals. Don’t forget to flip through magazines for inspo too! Once I narrowed down my favorite images, I printed them using my Canon Pixma Pro which I’ve had for about 7 years. It still works just as perfectly as it did when I first got it! If you don’t have a printer, you can print your images at a local Kinkos or Staples — it’s actually much more affordable than you’d think! I’m linking this smaller 4x6 printer that I’ve been eyeing for my scrapbooking needs, but it would be great for printing mood board images too! Also, I’ve had this Fujifilm instant printer for years to print iPhone photos as polaroids. I love it, and polaroids would be such a cute addition to your mood board (making a mental note to myself for Feb’s mood board!!)
Last but not least, these are the push pins I use! They’re tiny which I love because they don’t cover too much of the images.
